Bar Manager
Roles & Responsibilities:
Staff recruitment: Finding appropriate candidates and interviewing them.
Staff scheduling:
Scheduling shifts throughout the event
Assign staff to specific shifts and bar stations
Bar Setup & Breakdown
Oversee setup of bar areas a day or two prior to the event date (bars, equipment, POS systems, fridges, signage, etc.)
Ensure layout supports efficient service and crowd control
Manage takedown and proper storage of equipment after the event
Conduct performance evaluations and motivate staff
Inventory and Stock Management:
Forecast stock needs based on expected attendance
Coordinate delivery, storage, and restocking of beverages, cups, ice, and garnishes
Prevent stock shortages and spoilage
Keep accurate records of usage and leftover stock
Monitor and manage stock levels (alcohol, ice, mixers, garnishes, etc.)
Making sure alcohol is cold
Conduct regular inventory checks and control wastage
Bar Operations:
Making sure bartenders wont go above allowed amount of alcohol pouring
Oversee cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the bar
Ensuring team is well-trained in customer service, speed, and responsible alcohol service
Ensure fast and consistent service to reduce wait times
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety of all bar areas
Oversee waste management and recycling procedures
Customer Service + Compliance & Safety:
Ensure excellent customer service and handle complaints
Maintain a welcoming and safe environment
Motivate the team under high-pressure conditions and resolve conflicts quickly
Monitor staff and crowd behavior for signs of over-intoxication
Work closely with security and medical teams to handle incidents responsibly
Collaboration with Festival Team:
Participate in hourly briefings and adapt plans in real time as needed
Liaise with festival organizers, security, logistics, and production crews
