Security Manager
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Planning & Coordination
Develop and implement the festival security plan, including risk assessments.
Coordinate with festival organizers.
Design security protocols for different zones (stages, backstage, entrances, bars, camping areas, etc.)
Assign responsibilities to the security team and create shift schedules (Assessing each staff to its fitted opposition is a must)
2. Staff Management
Recruit, brief, and manage all security personnel (including supervisors, guards, stewards, and door staff)
Ensure all security staff are trained in crowd management, conflict de-escalation, emergency response, and first aid (if applicable)
Hold pre-event and hourly briefings to align the team on key priorities and updates
3. Access Control & Crowd Safety
Oversee gate control (ticket scanning, bag checks, ID checks, wristband distribution)
Monitor and manage crowd density at entrances, stages, bars, and exits
Prevent overcrowding and maintain safe movement paths for attendees
Ensure VIP, artist, and staff areas are secure and access is restricted
4. Surveillance & Incident Response
Respond quickly to incidents such as fights, theft, harassment, or medical emergencies
Record incidents accurately and report serious ones to organizers
Coordinate evacuations or lockdowns in case of emergencies
5. Emergency Preparedness
Develop evacuation routes and emergency action plans
Conduct safety drills with key staff before the festival begins
Work with medics and fire response teams to ensure readiness for potential threats (e.g. fire, weather, structural failure, stampede)
6. Conflict Resolution & Customer Interaction
De-escalate situations involving intoxicated, aggressive, or distressed individuals
Maintain a calm, respectful, and visible presence to reassure attendees
Balance firm enforcement of rules with a positive and welcoming festival atmosphere
7. Post-Event Duties
Review and report on all security operations
Conduct debriefings with staff and organizers
Document lessons learned and suggest improvements for future events
